Early in the morning, Angeline, CK and I went to Termini station to meet Liesbert, a Flemish and Lea, an American to go to the yearly Eurochocolate festival at Perugia. We were shocked when we were going to board the train to Perugia. It is packed with people and there was no seat left and many were standing. It would be very tiring to stand all 3 hours from Rome to Perugia.

Our plan to have breakfast and devotion on the train was almost destroyed. We needed to find a cabin to squeeze ourselves through the crowd. Wow!! I saw Giuseppe when I boarded the train and we called him and he was surprised to see us too. He joined us in the squeeze to the middle of the cabin and we set on the floor. As the train moved, we decided to continue our breakfast together. Giuseppe was amazed at the way we organised the breakfast and he also mentioned that it seemed like we were having lunch instead ;p Thank God for Lea for preparing the lunch for us. We also met a Mexican and Italian on the train and we had an interesting conversation together. We will arrange to meet them again.

When we reached Perugia train station, Giuseppe met his two Italian friends from Bologna. We moved together as a group. Later Giusppe and his friends left us for their lunch. As expected, there were too many people and I did not see much things and I was a bit disappointed as I expected some beautiful sculptures made of chocolates for display and some interesting performance. I only saw people and more people. Liesbert and CK managed to beat the crowd to ‘grap’ some free dark Perugina chocolates from the remains of the chocolate sculpture.

We ate gelato in the cool weather and felt a cold chill running through me after I finished my gelato. We need to stand in the sun to feel the warm. Angelina and I tried to get some free chocolates again but gave up.

We told a walk around the little old town in Perugia to see the Eruscian arches and the architectures of these buildings. Beautiful place.

On our way back to Rome, we had a good talk with Lea about the teaching in the church and we got to know Liesbert better and what she believes in.

Despite the crowd, I really enjoyed the time together with my friends and new-found friends. It is always interesting to know new friends and you will never know whether he or she will be your good friend too.
